Fall 2011 Teen Writers Meetings

Here is the schedule for our Teen Writers group. We meet at 5:30pm in the Teen Zone. Pizza & pop will be provided, courtesy of the Friends of the Library. Bring your writing & creativity.

April 25th

For April's meeting, please bring some of your writing to share (ex. a chapter of your novel) and a writing exercise for the group. Also, bring a friend!

February's Teen Writers Group

Our next Teen Writers group will meet Monday, February 28 @6pm in the Teen Zone. Pizza & drinks will be provided, thanks to the Friends of the Library.

The group decided that members should bring the following to share at February's meeting:
  • An original piece of writing (could have been written at any time), preferably in the genre you enjoy writing most.
  • Something you are reading, because what you read influences how you write.
  • A FRIEND! What better way to expand the group.
Writing Project "Homework"
  • Description of your mythological/mythical creature. (You can create your own or create a mutation/upgrade/parody of one. Create a description of your character and how they interact with others.)
  • Begin working on the Vantage Point Project. (The group brainstormed topics and each person is going to write up a scenario about the topics.)

  • Post-apocalyptic monsters & boogie men

  • Daughters of the moon/Sons of the moon

"Rules" of Teen Writers
  • Respect members of the group. No nastiness, please!
  • What is shared at TW, stays at TW.
  • Provide constructive criticism, not negative commentary.
  • Any kind of writing is allowed.
  • If you are sharing, please warn the group of any content that may be graphic. It may be appropriate for your writing, but not for the setting.
